Readings May 2007

Review

May Reading 2007 of the Nagoya Writers.
Being a nice day, it brought a surge of readings.
Shoichi opened with his Mop poem. Made everyone cry.
Joe continued with his poems that were not yet poems and Sarah
confessed of her secret passion for writing love letters to
virtual lovers., Brian told of a six students life in a closet, in Dublin and I spouted
off jokes of teachers with wise crack students. One man in the back who
kept ordering salads, named 'mushroom express', laughed hysterically
which was disconcerting as they were not so funny.
I found more distracting when Ralph took out his pet armadillo and kept
throwing it into the mirror, It made a squeak each time when it hit the glass.
It would then drop down to the floor and try wriggling away. He said it
wasn't cruel as that was how they were naturally. jumping up into cars while crossing
the highways of Texas,
Sorry I can't remember the other readers so well now.
There was no end of red wine, so several writers lost their legs to read.
And one man kept snoring who had over slept from the party the night before.
It was ok till he stopped breathing. We thought he had died but it
was only caused by his confusion when faced with the run away armadillo
in his face.
till next readings on June 24th.
